Thanks Les. Why did you go with carbs and not the fuel injection?

The intent is to keep it simple and straight forward. The standard Briggs and Stratton Carb did not have HP and so we have changed to the Dual Mikuni Carbs. Seems to be doing better.

Looking good – this is the engine I’m hoping on using once it’s built, so very interested in developments. Cheers

    Les,

Great progress! A suggestion, wrap a piece of .015-.020 stainless steel shim between the clamps and the hoses that the attach the carbs. Should reduce the shaking, and you still have the damping/sealing from the hose.

I’m considering my engine options on my LEXL build (1/2VW or Kohler/B&S V-twin). So I’m keenly interested in your progress and results!

    Regards,
    LeMoyne

You can save a few pounds by going to a billet aluminum flywheel.
